The Valencia CF winger spoke to the media following the inauguration of the new sports facility.
Valencia CF and Villarreal CF played play each other on Saturday, January 26th at 8.45 pm on Matchday 21 of LaLiga Santander at Mestalla. Valencia CF got a 3-0 thanks to goals from Muctar Diakhaby, Denis Cheryshev- who scored against his former side and, Rodrigo Moreno.
Valencia CF had a comfortable start to the regional derby. Diakhaby got his head to it, beyond Sergio Asenjo and into the net, but it was first ruled out for offside and minutes later, adjudged onside after a long VAR review.
Rodrigo Moreno and Denis Cheryshev combined well but the Russian’s shot was parried away by Sergio Asenjo. Valencia CF kept on pushing forward and comfortably in possession in and around Villareal’s box.
Dani Parejo had the last meaningful chance of the first half in the 45th with a powerful shot that kissed the right post. The first half of the regional derby finished 1-0 for Valencia CF at half-time.
Valencia CF emerged to the second half looking to get themselves two goals in front and they almost did when Santi Mina hit the post after a great ball by Denis Cheryshev. Minutes later, Dani Parejo won the ball back and sent it to Denis Chershev who placed it past his former teammate to double Valencia CF’s lead.
Valencia CF kept on working Sergio Asenjo through Piccini and Rodrigo’s shot’s which Asejo kept out. Rodrigo Moreno killed the game with a great free header after a good ball from Ferran Torres with five minutes of normal time left to play. Valencia will play against Getafe on Tuesday where they will try to advance to the semi-finals in front of the home fans.
